Former Liverpool winger Albert Riera has signed a permanent deal with Real Mallorca.

The Spaniard has been training with the Segunda Division side in a bid to earn a contract and has now been granted his wish, signing on until the end of the 2015/16 season.

The 32-year-old, who has been without a club since leaving Udinese in November, had three spells in English football.

First he made 15 appearances on loan at Manchester City between January and May in 2006.

Then, in September 2008, he made an £8m move from Espanyol to Liverpool, where he stayed for two years, making 40 Premier League appearances.

His last club in England was Watford, where he spent just a few months in 2014 before linking up with Udinese.
