Bolton have signed England youth international Max Clayton after agreeing a compensation package with Crewe.
Clayton had also attracted interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, but after spending a week training with the Championship club earlier in the summer, Bolton made their move to sign the prolific forward.
The 20-year-old has a sell-on clause that would entitle the League One side to an added bonus if he left Bolton.
Clayton has signed a three-year deal with Bolton and will be hoping to make an immediate impact under Dougie Freedman.
