Napoli and Manchester United are haggling over the loan fee for Marouane Fellaini as the Belgian midfielder prepares to leave the Premier League club.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United are willing to allow Fellaini to leave on loan after talks over a permanent move away from the club fell through.

However, Napoli and Manchester United are yet to agree a fee for the season-long deal, with the Serie A side offering £1.6million but United demanding £3.5m.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly put a contingency plan in place should the move for Fellaini collapse.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is said to be the next name on the Spaniard’s list of transfer targets.

Benitez signed the Brazilian for £5m back in 2007 when he was manager of Liverpool.
